Supermajority’s Statement on Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee SCOTUS Decision

Washington, D.C., July 1, 2021 

Today, following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee, Supermajority released the following statement:

“Whatever your age, race or background, in this country we share the values of freedom and fairness and that means the ability to cast your vote without discrimination or intimidation. Today, our Supreme Court should have protected our fundamental right to vote but instead, it took sides with partisan state lawmakers in Arizona to block people’s votes and voices, in a desperate move to stop the will of the people. This decision will make it harder for women and women of color to vote and make it easier for more states to roll back voting rights in the future. We must come together to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the For the People Act to create national standards that will protect our votes and our freedoms. We know we have the power to stand up against these efforts because when women come together across all ages, races, and backgrounds, we are the supermajority of voters and we are unstoppable.”
