Throughout her career and activism, Ai-jen has prioritized the experiences of women, particularly those of women of color and immigrant women. As a co-founder of Supermajority, Ai-jen hopes to bring the concerns of domestic workers to the forefront. Despite the important role domestic workers play in caring for our families, children, and elderly, they are often kept out of the conversation surrounding workers’ rights. Supermajority along with Ai-jen’s extensive expertise will work to ensure that domestic workers are guaranteed dignity, respect, and benefits for the extensive emotional and physical labor they provide.

As a co-founder and as the current Executive Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, Ai-jen and her team have helped pass Domestic Workers Bills of Rights in nine states and the city of Seattle. Additionally, under her leadership, the National Domestic Workers Alliance has helped 2 million home care workers receive minimum wage protections.

Ai-jen has also been a vocal advocate of the #MeToo movement demanding that the barriers domestic care workers face when reporting sexual harrassment and sexual violence are addressed and rectified.

Ai-jen has been recognized among Fortune’s 50 World’s Greatest Leaders and TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, and was granted a 2014 MacArthur “Genius” Award. Ai-jen has been featured as a speaker at TEDWomen, Aspen Ideas Festival, Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, Skoll World Forum, and the Obama Foundation Inaugural Summit.

Ai-jen served as a member of the US Partnership on Mobility from Poverty, is a trustee of the Ford Foundation and a member of the Democratic National Committee. She has a BA from Columbia University and honorary doctorates from Smith College, the New School, and the City University of New York.
