Vanessa Petion is the Digital Media Strategist for Supermajority’s communications team. She empowers Supermajority’s digital audience to build collective power by managing our owned channels and strategizing content rooted in digital storytelling and our Majority Rules to help with engagement. Prior to joining Supermajority, Vanessa served in several social justice and racial equity roles. She was an AmeriCorps VISTA at a DC elementary school, provided communications strategy for a DC Councilmember and most recently led digital strategy for a youth policy and research-based nonprofit. She believes that energizing people affected by social issues and systemic barriers, not only taps into the power that they already have but also bridges gaps in information and fuels social change and awareness. In her free time you’ll find her at bookstores, on the hunt for her next favorite food spot, or catching up on her favorite tv shows. She also loves anything pop culture and early 2000s related and watching reruns of One Tree Hill.
